This Payments page explains accepted methods, billing, security, taxes, authorizations, and refunds for purchases made on explorethese.com (“ExploreThese,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By placing an order, you agree to this page and to our Terms & Conditions.


Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which typically include:

  • Major credit/debit cards (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • PayPal
  • Other wallet/options when available (e.g., Apple Pay / Google Pay)

Availability can vary by country, device, and order value. If a method doesn’t appear at checkout, it isn’t available for that order.

Currency, Taxes & Order Total

  • Currency: Prices are shown and charged in USD unless otherwise indicated. If your bank bills in another currency, it will convert at its own rate and may charge fees.
  • Sales tax: Calculated at checkout where required by law based on your shipping address.
  • Duties/VAT: For international orders, import taxes/fees are handled per our Shipping Policy.

Security & How We Handle Payment Data

  • Payments are processed by PCI-compliant third-party providers (e.g., card processors, PayPal).
  • We use SSL/TLS encryption on the Site.
  • We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • If you save a payment method in your account, a token is stored by the processor, not your full card details. You can remove saved methods in your account at any time.

Authorizations, Captures & When You’re Charged

  • For most card payments, your bank may place a temporary authorization hold at checkout. We capture funds when the order is confirmed for processing.
  • Some orders (e.g., pre-orders/backorders) may be charged at confirmation depending on the gateway’s rules; any such details will be shown at checkout.
  • If an authorization expires before capture, your bank may temporarily release and then re-place funds—this is controlled by your bank.

Billing Information & Verification

To protect customers from fraud, we may:

  • Verify billing and shipping information (e.g., AVS, CVV, 3D Secure when supported).
  • Contact you for additional verification or request an alternate method.
  • Cancel or limit orders flagged as high-risk; you’ll be notified and refunded if already charged.

Coupons, Promotions & Gift Cards

  • Only one promotion may apply unless stated otherwise.
  • Coupons must be entered at checkout and cannot be applied after an order is placed.
  • Gift cards/store credit (if offered in the future) will be shown as options at checkout; terms will be listed on their respective pages.

Failed, Declined, or Reversed Payments

  • If your payment is declined, please verify card details, available funds, billing address, and 3D Secure prompts, then try again or choose another method.
  • We cannot ship orders without successful payment authorization.
  • If your bank reverses a payment or opens a dispute, your order may be paused or canceled while we provide evidence to the processor.

Refunds (Method & Timing)

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. If that’s not possible, we may issue store credit.
  • Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days after we process them (bank/PayPal timelines vary).

Chargebacks & Disputes

If something’s wrong, please contact Support first so we can resolve it quickly. If a bank/PayPal dispute is opened, we’ll respond with order records, tracking, and communication history. Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may lead to account restrictions.

Pricing Errors & Availability

Despite care, errors may occur (price, description, availability). We reserve the right to cancel or correct and will notify you; you may accept the corrected order or receive a refund. See Terms & Conditions for details.

Subscriptions & Installments

We do not currently offer subscriptions or installment/BNPL plans. If introduced later, their terms will appear here and at checkout.
